This class is the perfect starting point for our youngest dancers. We use movement in a positive way to introduce dance concepts such as space, time, rhythm and balance, while encouraging the child’s creativity and personal expression. Children learn the structure of dance class as well: about expressing their feelings through movement, following directions and cooperating with others.

TuTu Tiny is offered in two segments: Level 1 (a 30-minute class for 3 year-olds and 4 year-olds who are new to dance) and Level 2 (a 45-minute class for 4 year-olds who have successfully participated in Level 1).

 

more classes for young ones (ages 4-5)

PreBallet/Tap (ages 4-5). This class introduces beginning ballet technique, vocabulary and choreography with a creative and playful approach. Children learn the structure of dance class and are taught proper technique using creative imagery though movement. Each class will devote the final 20 minutes to beginning tap, helping children learn rhythm combinations, timing and beginning tap technique in this upbeat dance class. Attire: Leotard, pink or white tights and pink ballet shoes. Hair must be secured away from the face and off the neck.

Lil' Hip Hop (ages 4-5). This popular class appeals to both boys and girls. Children will be introduced to a more rhythmic, upbeat dance style with fun, vibrant music. This class also incorporates “body percussion” moves and routines to appeal to the young child’s need for experiential, active learning. Attire: T-shirt or tank, sweat pants or shorts, clean gym shoes that have not been worn outside the studio.
