hip hop and breakdance classes
Lil’ Hip Hop (ages 4-5). This popular class appeals to both boys and girls. Children will be introduced to a more rhythmic, upbeat dance style with fun, vibrant music. This class also incorporates “body percussion” moves and routines to appeal to the young child’s need for experiential, active learning. Attire: T-shirt or tank, sweat pants or shorts, clean gym shoes that have not been worn outside the studio.
Pop Music Jam (ages 6-10). This energetic class combines jazz and hip hop styles with music made popular with the “tweens” by artists such as Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Jonas Brothers and more. This is a great starting point for students who are interested in exploring more energetic, up-tempo dance styles. Attire: Loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants or shorts, t-shirt or tank top, and clean gym shoes that have not been worn outside the studio.
Hip Hop (ages 5 and up). The hip hop student will learn techniques such as body isolations, pop-lock movement, hip hop choreography and how to execute diverse styles and attitude. Attire: Loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants or shorts, t-shirt or tank top, and clean gym shoes that have not been worn outside the studio.
Break Dancing (ages 10 and up). Break dancing is an athletic dance form which uses your whole body. You will learn breaking, footwork, transitions, freezes, and most importantly, how to rock a beat. Class may also include poppin', lockin', and works on top rock, bottom rock, techs and power moves. Attire: Loose fitting clothing, such as sweat pants or shorts, t-shirt or tank top, and clean gym shoes that have not been worn outside the studio.
